So, you must want to learn how to get a flat stomach or you would not be reading this. I can almost hear you now "but I've tried EVERYTHING and NOTHING works". Lots of people do lots of things but if the things you are doing are unfocused, then the results just won't happen. We all have 24 hours so its really important to learn how to focus your time and energy correctly to make sure you make maximum use of your limited resources.

Lets look at what really does work and what you can do.

Take a holistic approach to your body and exercise. Work out your ENTIRE body, not just your abs. The entire body is comprised of muscle and muscle needs more calories. The more muscle you have, the more you can eat. Win Win. Ironically, more muscle will actually increase your body weight but throw away your scales and just "look" at how fabulous your body looks instead.

Try and reduce the amount of alcohol you drink. Alcohol contains empty calories and has been known to deposit fat directly on the stomach area.

Eat more, more often. Eat smaller meals throughout the day, rather than two or three larger meals.

Eat more fruit and vegetables. They will help stave off hunger and have a high water content which helps eliminate toxins from the body.

Have a massage! Massage increases muscle tone, improves circulation, makes you feel fantastic and improves lymphatic drainage.

Vary your exercise routine. Don't let your mind or your body get bored.

Lets look at what does not work and what to avoid

Dont sweat the small stuff.

Stress has been shown to impede weight loss. If you are stressing about not being able to get a flat stomach, then its not going to happen.

Stop wasting money on ab belts, ab rockers or other home exercise equipment. They just take up space and end up as clutter or on ebay.

Don't expect magic results over night. You don't put weight on overnight so why would you expect to lose it over night and get a flat stomach. Don't stop. Keep going, get focused on your goal. Write it down, look at it, see it, believe it. Share it with someone else and have one hell of a party when you achieve your goal of a flat stomach or whatever else you set your mind to.
