In this article I want to focus on the people who are doing everything they can, to achieve their goals. If you have been doing your best, then you may have had some success, but still not quite reaching the point where you want to be.

I want to offer some encouragement, because it's a very daunting tasks when it seems that you're the only person who believes in you. Remember that it's the hundreds of small steps that make the big difference. Continue to work on your business or plan everyday. Even if all your able to accomplish that day is reading some books or writing down your goals. Every bit counts towards the final results.

Never feel like you're not progressing because other people aren't flocking to you at the moment. Stay consistent with your plan and that will change. If you feel like things are moving in a circle and you keep facing the same obstacles, then I would suggest you try a different approach. For instance, you keep sending your Cd's to radio stations, but never get a response. You've called and gotten other people to call, but no such luck. Maybe next time instead of sending your Cd, drive up to the station and meet the staff in person.

Someone once shared a good piece of advise with me on promotion. He said " the best way to open a door is to open it yourself". It's much harder for people to tell you no in person. So if your there, then they have to deal with you, and your determination. Most people in the business respect that and you will get a different response.

One thing I like to do is keep something visual around that reminds me of what my ultimate goal is. It can be a picture, a trophy, a magazine whatever, but the purpose of it is to point you back the to main agenda. Let's face it there are so many opportunities that you can get side tracked and lose sight of the goal. For this reason I think the more targeted you can be the better your chances of success. So if you write songs or play an instrument, then your focus should be song writing and playing the instrument.

Don't go out and try to run a real estate business or start a law firm at the same time you want to write songs and play that instrument. I not saying you can't do it all, but manage your time and focus carefully. I know alot of talented people, and we all have a million a one ideas that can potentially make money or create some interest. The fact is if we never stop to focus on one at a time we may never accomplish any of our goals.

Also remember you have to love what your striving for or you won't last. The music business is very difficult to make a living on. So you have to be willing to do it just for the love of it. Doing it for the love will carry you in tough times and reward you in the end. My phrase for this year is keep pushing until the bubble pops. I encourage you to come up with a phrase or slogan to help you remember to keep pushing and never ever give up. Thanks for reading, until next time.
