It seems like no matter what your profession is these days the market is highly competitive, and you're forced to play the odds. Of course this article isn't about how to beat the odds, know one really knows anyway, however there are somethings you can do to put yourself in a better position to succeed and therefore move ahead in the competition.

The number one thing you can do is stay positive. That's right you've hear it a thousand times but what does it really mean to say "stay positive"? Sounds like some good luck charm that never works right? Well many successful people will tell you that positive thoughts will bring positive actions, positive actions bring, positive results. In the music industry you will face rejection time and time again, and if you don't carry positive energy with you this business will crush you quickly.

I remember the first time I got a critique from a well known A&R who's name I won't mention said, "Are you serious, this is horrible. The music has know feeling, the writing has know story. What are you doing?" As you can image I was disappointed because I thought I was sending him a hit song. Not to say that it wasn't a hit but I still had to learn how to deal with rejection and stay positive.

A few days later I was playing the song at the playground and 2 people who were waiting for their turn to shoot hoops noticed my song and started nodding their heads. It was all I needed to keep going. I picked my head up got back in the studio, and started writing again, with positive confident vibes flowing threw my veins.Since that time I haven't received a critique like the first.

I was able to keep my confidence and positive thoughts, and years from then I'm farther along than I ever could have imagined. Remember this if nothing else, your thoughts are very powerful, they can even come to life as you think them,so make sure as you deal with rejection and disappointment that you always find a way to smile and be positive and eventually that will bring you your dreams.

Staying positive is also healthy, and good for the people around you.You can take that energy anywhere and people will notice and be drawn to you,it's not some magic trick, it's a non verbal form of communication that let other humans know you are ready to interact.

Keep pushing after it never ever give up.
