Whenever I get a chance to jump into a forum or two, I notice a very interesting phenomenon. I see so many newbies coming at the business of Internet and Affiliate marketing from a place of panic and desperation.
Aside from the technical part of learning this business, there's a huge psychological aspect. HERE'S ONE OF THE BIGGEST MISTAKES (IMO) a newbie can make when they begin this business... it is entering in panic mode.
"I can't pay my bills" — "I'm gonna go bankrupt soon, so I gotta do something fast!" "This better work!" "I just gotta make some money fast or..."
If you fall under that category, I, can predict your IM future. YOU, are gonna fail! You're NOT gonna think straight - you're NOT gonna absorb - you're NOT gonna be organized - and you're NOT gonna have fun! Yes, I said 'fun'. When was the last problem you solved or job you accomplished successfully from a state of panic? We usually find the answers we need when we calm down and relax.
It's sorta like, when you're struggling to 'try' and remember something you can't. You finally say to yourself, "aw, the hell with it". What happens next? YOU know.... suddenly, it pops into your head—you remember it! Why? Because you took the pressure off of 'the TRYING' to remember... you let it go!
I understand the seriousness of this kind of situation, (believe me, I do) of feeling trapped in a financial corner. But if your just a bundle of nerves, doing a lot of praying and hoping that IT works, IT... won't work. It's just not gonna happen with that mindset. Wrong, abrupt, and many time, foolish decisions will be made... such as reaching out to 'get-rich-quick'.
You may have joined such fine organizations as 'The Wealthy Affiliate University', or 'SBI', which would have guaranteed success. But it doesn't happen fast enough,sooooo... "I think I'll start looking at some of those other systems, methods, secrets, and make money fast thingies." When this occurs...you're doomed - and you've wasted a whole boatload of time, and some cash that you wish you had now.
Ok, everybody who's ever done this and ...RAISE YOUR HANDS. C'mon, you know who you are! HANDS UP I SAID! ADMIT IT! (mine's up) LOL
A better way to work this business is to just do the day job thing to take care of the necessities—while at the same time building your IM business—and build it with a cool & collected head, with fun, and in a motivated manner.
And guess what? THEN, it will probably happen much faster then you expect. You just can't just force it. You just can't brute-force these techniques into success. Yes, their are some individuals who have come in on Internet marketing and made money quite fast... but who knows... either they were lucky, or they worked day and night, or they're some kinda genius.. don't ya hate those types? :-)
But for us folks of normal, average intelligence, we have to work at it.. and we can become just a successful as anyone, it just might take a little longer - so what! You'd NEVER have it, if you NEVER do it.
In every field, there is a TRAINING period... an On-The-Job LEARNING period (trial & error)... and a REFINING period.... why is that different in Internet Mareting? It's not. It's just that there's so much hype about 'get rich quick' by some fabulous copywriters, and so much of it, that we sometimes feel that "just maybe'... but it ain't so.
This field (IM) is a huge elephant! Did you ever hear the question,
"How do you eat and elephant?"
the answer is....
"One bite at a time!"
You have to digest what you bit off before you bite again... this takes time. Eat too fast... try'n stuff your face with too much... swallow to fast... and you get a big case of Marketing indigestion. And to continue the metaphor.... then the poor elephant gets blamed!
So, the moral of the story is........ for God sakes slow down... yes, it WILL happen.. it COULD happen... IF, you take smaller bites... digest... then take another... Set a 6 month goal (one you BELIEVE) you can manage. Then set another 6 month goal. Get organized—this is major. And you'll get there.
All the best - I'll see at the top - maybe in a month or two, maybe in six... but I'll see you there!

This article deals with one of the ways that offers can be promoted to potential buyers, who don't want to use Google Adwords campaigns. It offers the potential to far surpass the effectiveness of an adwords campaign at about 1/10th the cost. One of the programs gives you access to a growing mailing list, without you having to go thru the trouble of building one yourself.
