A near death experience has been known to provoke all kinds of visions and proclamations about what might be "on the other side."
There are two stories that are told the most often. The first type is the out of body experience where after being close to death the individual reports flying or traveling through a dark tunnel towards a bright light. Usually, these people claim that they can see themselves rising, as a phantom shape from their physical body and then they have the sensation that they are floating across the ceiling. In many near death experience stories, people have related seeing doctors working on them, hearing conversations and seeing there loved ones weeping. Many people who have had heart attacks also claim to see things like heart monitor machines beeping and paddles being applied and then feel their ethereal selves being drawn back into their bodies after they have been revived.
Yet another experience that is very common is seeing the near death experience light. People who have died and come back often claim to be traveling through a dark tunnel. At the end of this tunnel is a light that beckons them. Sometimes, the light is not at the end of a tunnel but high above the person's head or in the distance in space. In almost all of these types of stories, the person appears to be beckoned by the light. It is also common for the dying person to hear a voice coming from the light. In some cases, the dying person even sees the faces of loved ones who have become deceased in the light. These faces may speak and gesture towards the loved one to come join them.
Some people dismiss these reportings as fantasies. Neurologists claim these types of experiences are the products of neurons discharging and brain chemicals changing as a person begins to experience the dying process. However, so many people have the same types of visions after an experience that they are becoming harder to dismiss.
Near death experiences have been around for centuries. Not all accounts of visiting the other side have been so positive. Some people who have gone over talk of a near death experience hell where they experience a great deal of horror or fear while dying. This puts a fear of what is on the other side with them for the rest of their lives.
Yet another aspect of this that is often talked about is the near death suicide hell. Often this is a story of redemption. A depressed individual attempts suicide and then nearly dies. While having his or her stomach pumped or heart revived they often say that they travel to a place that resembles the hell described throughout time by religious figures. However many of these reports are often on Christian websites to deter people from committing suicide.

More religious articles: - Pay The Piper (Phillip Ross)
In spite of that rightful claim upon the Corinthian purse, Paul did not request or receive any such care. Why not? Because he did not want to give the impression that his ministry was motivated by monetary concerns. He did not want to be perceived as a hired gun that had come in to clean up the Corinthian church. He did not want to put an obstacle in the way of the gospel of Christ. - Freedom's Limits (Phillip Ross)
Against the tide of unrestrained freedom, Paul argued for caution and restraint. Here and elsewhere Paul argued that freedom in Christ did not mean that Christians were free to do whatever they wanted to do, even if there was nothing ultimately wrong with some particular action. But rather, Christians were free in Christ to live in obedience to Christ, free to care for and model behavior suited to the least discerning of Christ's people. - Saint Elizabeth of Hungary and four years of suffering (Bob and Penny Lord)
Elizabeth's spiritual director began a program of stripping Elizabeth of all that she had known, material possessions which had never been considered luxurious by her or her family. - The Biggest Identity Thief (Michael A. Verdicchio)
Have you ever had your identity stolen? I have. Twice. It's not pleasant. Discover in this article the biggest identity thief that I know. This thief can steal your identity in a matter of seconds. - Blessed Anna Maria Taigi and false prophets (Bob and Penny Lord)
Accounts of Anna Maria Taigi and false prophets. A religious, known for his sanctity, believed that he had had a vision of two Angels who assured him his ambitious project was of Divine origin and would bear much fruit. When he told this to Anna Maria, she smiled sadly and gently informed him it would fail miserably. It did! - Morality and Maturity (Phillip Ross)
False gods are powerless because they are not real. And yet, people falsely believe they are real, and establish very real and destructive behaviors on that false basis. Consequently, the more mature are bound by the weaknesses of the less mature as a matter of service to the weaker brothers. - Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque and the Fourth Great Revelation (Bob and Penny Lord)
Margaret Mary Alacoque was before the Blessed Sacrament when the Lord appeared to her, uncovered His Divine Heart and gave her His last Great message. He told her that she could do no better than to return His great love by doing what He asked of her. - Unbelievable Truth (Phillip Ross)
Too many of the Corinthians who now associated themselves with Jesus Christ had not made a clean break with their former beliefs. They brought many of those former beliefs -- false beliefs and the false worldview of Greek philosophy -- into the Corinthian church with them. Still happens.
