Lead generation is no longer hard to achieve with the sheer amount of people using the internet. Due to the unlimited reach of the Internet, there are thousands of websites that offer usable leads. One of the latest of these websites is Twitter. It was established in 2006, and is currently gaining more popularity from the usage of Hollywood celebrities and common people. This website has provided virtual spaces to present up-to-date information about anything or anyone.

The website name itself suggests how easy it is to use. The messages posted are as brief as a bird's chirp! Messages can only be up to 140 characters-long. These are called Tweets, which the page author could deliver via the website or mobile text messaging. Such features make Twitter appropriate to the fast-paced life of today's people.

Since the information posted is very brief, these messages are very easy to scan quickly. Twitter has various ways to generate specific leads for any search. Twitter Search enables users to easily detect which leads are really helpful or merely disposable. The first is Track. It is a partnership between Twitter and Summize, Inc., which was initiated last 2008. This program allows you to filter real-time information from archived ones. The leads you will initially get are the most recent postings.

The next one is the Advanced Search Operator. Firstly, you have to fill in the Advanced Search Form. The form is used to automatically construct your search in a customized way. You will find Tweets based on your description of the following items:

* Words - different boxes that would include all or a part of the words you typed in
* People - fill in the range of people you want to see the postings of
* Places - designate the exact location or areas in close proximity
* Dates - specify the timeline you need
* Attitudes - modify the 'feel' of the posting, whether positive or negative
* Links - include relevant sites

With such specific search methods, finding leads is an uncomplicated one.

The last lead generating search method is through the Twitter "API" Documentation. API means Application Programming Interface, which is very technical and only recommended for advanced users. Twitter API is available in two ways:

1. REST API, in which users are given access to retrieve and use the core Twitter data stream. There are several methods to acquire data using this feature:

a) namely time line public status,
b) authenticating status update,
c) show users,
d) direct messages,
e) create friendships,
f) social graph for user ids,
g)account verification,
and other complex search tools.

2. Search API - users are given access to Twitter Search and data trending.

Twitter Search provides an across-the-board approach. Leads for whatever purpose can be in your hands in just a few searches.Spending your hard-earned money to find leads is not required.

The official Twitter Blog should be checked frequently to find out what new added search features are available.
