1. How Long Has The Company Been In Business
Although how old the business is does not a guarantee that it will be around tomorrow, there is some comfort in longevity. Because it is so easy to start a business on the Internet today, many companies will spring up today and be gone tomorrow. You don't want to be one of their victims.
It really is a good idea that when you first start out you pay attention to the length of time that the company has been in business. You may even want to go so far as only join a company that has been around for five to 10 years or more.
This is especially true if you have to invest money to get started. Many affiliate marketing programs can be joined for free and you do not have to be quite as cautious with those if you have no initial cash outlay.
2. Is The Product A Fad or On The Way Out
Any legitimate work from home opportunity needs to provide a legitimate product. When we say is a product on the way out were looking at things like renting videos at Blockbuster, for example. People can stay home and watch movies online, or order them to accompany such as Netflix.
The Internet is famous for fad products. This is especially true in the Internet marketing business. The next great thing is always being released in the format of a $1000 product launch. By the time you are finished getting through all the CDs and workbooks it's time to buy the next thousand dollar training material.
3. WIIFM Radio
When you're looking for a legitimate way to make money at home, you really need to consider what's in it for me. This makes sense because it's your business. What you're really looking at is how much money can you make if you join that business.
Also, are you going to be able to promote it to make sales, and to recruit people if you're looking at adding distributors or affiliates to sell for you. You certainly do not want to be involved in adding people to your business and helping with their demise if the company that you are promoting scams people.
This is three tips to consider when you search for a legitimate work from home opportunity. Using these as a barometer you should be able to make a better decision when you first get started.
