Is having your name and photograph on your website an important thing to do? I saw this question today in a discussion forum. In my mind I say that branding yourself is important in certain niches.

That would include anything that encourages your prospects and customers to interact with you.

I have been doing phone consultations for the PIPS Power Group now for the past few weeks. One thing I have noticed is that the websites that come with the Plugin Profit Site never match the blog that the owner sets up. The other thing is none of them have a header and none have a picture of the owner of the site.

Branding yourself is part of a bigger picture that includes branding your website. This should include being consistent with everything you do on every page of your website and blog.

Here is an example of what I'm talking about. If you go into a McDonald's in London you are going to see the exact same menu and golden arches that you see in the United States, Mexico, and anywhere that McDonald's has a restaurant.

This is what you should strive to do with your website and blog. It should have the same feel an appearance. Your header should be the same on every page. The background color should be the same on every page as well.

You should have a sign-up form to your newsletter or however you are capturing names and e-mail addresses for follow. This is a good place to include your picture for branding yourself.

People ask me all the time, if traffic exchanges really work. There is no doubt that they do work if you strive to brand yourself and your business.

This is really branding marketing first and foremost. People get used to seeing your header and your picture. You should be promoting a landing page where you are trying to capture names and e-mail addresses for future follow.

If you are in a traffic exchange for any period of time you will start to see the same pages come up over and over. The really effective ones are ones that have a capture form and a picture of the website owner.

In conclusion, there is no doubt that branding yourself is important if you are in the home business or Internet marketing niche. Because there is so much competition you have to make yourself stand out somehow.

The best way to do that is offer unique information, and then brand yourself as a person who is willing to help your prospect and be successful. Having your picture and name helps you do that because people feel like they know you and will be more willing to contact you.
