Eurostar is the popular train service that links the UK to Paris. It has other connecting services that link to over a hundred destinations across Europe. Often known as "Chunnel travel" it is a fast, inexpensive and a pleasurable train ride travelling at speeds up to 186m.p.h to Disneyland Paris, Lille, Brussels and Amsterdam. Travel time is constantly being improved; fares are wide-ranging and there are special programs available and discounted rates for European rail pass holders, business users and frequent travellers.

Eurostar is reliable and figures indicate that over ninety percent of trains reach their destinations on time. It is a viable option to flying, as you only have to check in half an hour before your train. It is also a much more environmentally friendly option, as a journey on Eurostar emits ten times less carbon dioxide that a plane to the same destination. Eurostar work closely with Friends of the Earth and have made a commitment to reduce emission further by 2012.

Standard travel is family friendly and you can request seats in special family areas. These are designed to give children more space to play and are near the baby changing facilities. The bar buffet offers a good choice of snack and meals and is a far cry from the limp sandwiches you may have endured when travelling with some other companies.

Leisure Select travel on Eurostar means a warm welcome at the platform, glossy magazines to read in a comfortable seat with arm rests. This is just ideal for stretching out and snoozing after your free glass of champagne you receive with your lunch and dinner. The menu is tantalising with a choice of authentic cuisine from Britain and the Continent made from organic, Fairtrade and locally sourced fresh ingredients.

Business Premier travel on Eurostar allows you to check in fast and choose your seat when you book online. The table areas are large enough to meet the businessperson's needs and all seats have power sockets for your laptop. The business lounges provide complimentary newspapers, magazines, snacks, refreshments, Internet connection and WiFi access. The meals are excellent but for those who are too busy to stop and eat, you can order the Express Breakfast, a healthy cold option.

Joining the Eurostar Frequent Traveller program allows you to enjoy special service benefits and earn points to spend on rewards. You qualify by making a journey or return journey to the value of £185 and it's easy to apply by filling in the online form. Once you have joined and have your membership number all you have to do is quote it when you travel in order to receive special treatment and great rewards.

When you book your Eurostar train travel online, you can also book a hotel, car, tickets to events and attractions, buy gift vouchers and travel insurance.

Combine quality hotels and low cost flights for unforgettable Eurostar city breaks. Search directline-citybreaks.co.uk for all the latst prices & offers.
