As an affiliate marketer, you are always looking for more ways to make money when you get paid affiliate commissions. In this article, let's talk about two ways to increase affiliate commissions without spending much more time doing it.

1. The first thing we want to talk about is doing two-tier affiliate programs. A 2 tier affiliate program means that you get paid on your personal sales, and you also get paid on the sales of affiliates that you personally recruit.

This adds a nice twist to affiliate marketing, because it gives you options to earn more affiliate commissions beyond just your personal sales. If you are the type of person who enjoys working with people and helping them recruiting affiliates, then this will be right up your alley.

Social networking is extremely popular on the Internet today and two tier affiliate programs tie in very nicely with this. Because affiliate programs are free to join, it's very easy to recruit new affiliates into the program you are promoting.

The hard part is getting them to the point where they can actually make sales. One advantage you will have if you are successful as an affiliate marketer is you can put together a program that is designed to duplicate your efforts.

2. This leads into our next way to increase affiliate commissions and that is to teach your first level affiliates how to make more sales online. Although the commission rate that you earn is not as good on their sales as it is on yours, it is still worthwhile for you to put some time and effort into their success.

It kind of goes back to the old J. Paul Getty saying of he would rather have 1% of the effort of a hundred different individuals than to have 100% of the effort of himself. If you really want to increase your affiliate commissions you certainly want to sell more personally, but putting together a large team of affiliate sales reps is a great way to explode your income also.

If you have products of your own that you are creating, having a team of affiliates in place makes it easy to quickly get that product in the marketplace. Therefore as you are recruiting people into a two-tier affiliate program, you should be also building a training program on the side that includes getting their name and e-mail addresses and constantly keeping in touch with them.

This is two ways to increase affiliate commissions that anyone can do using two tier affiliate programs.
