You've heard of internet marketing and want to get the "Cliff Notes" of what it's about. Maybe you might even give it a go as your own earn money way? Well, this basic introduction to internet marketing will provide you with a glimpse into that earn money way world.

So, you'd like to have a domain name that told people your website is about birds. "BirdWatching.com" would be an ideal domain name; trouble is, it's already taken. So, now you will have to think of another one that isn't taken but close in meaning to your interest.

Once you get a domain name, now you have to build your website around your niche; even if you're doing this as a hobby.

There are plenty of free tools out there to help too. Just Google and YouTube almost anything about internet marketing you need and you'll find it. There are website templates and skins available to simplify things, where even some of these are free. . .Tutorials of all type. So there's always a reference library readily available for anyone at any level. Of course you work at home doing all this remember.

For a product to sell, the easiest to promote would be an affiliate program in your earn money way niche. Or, create your own info digital ebook on something about your niche. Something people would be willing to pay for. It's got to be quality work—you don't want a bad reputation on the internet.

You can always hire someone inexpensively to write for you too if you like. At any rate, you should have a sales page, a thank you page, and maybe a couple more pages for other products you might like to offer for sale.

You'll also need to decide how you wish to go about getting visitors (called "traffic") to your website. Getting visitors is always done pro-actively.

There are many methods one can use to get visitors too. Many of these methods can be readily found on the internet. Some of these methods are free, like writing articles and submitting them to article directories; some cost money, like advertising.

If you don't want to advertise to get your traffic (visitors), then you can do something called "search engine optimization" as your earn money way (or SEO for short). SEO is basically where you attempt to make your website so attractive to search engines, that when people search for your main keyword, your earn money ways website will be on page one of the search results. The closer to the number one spot, the more free visitors you'll have and possibly the more money you will make. That's the goal of SEO.

Another method of generating traffic to your website is through social networks. You can also create videos for free video outlets like YouTube, which sends people to your website. All these ways warmly helps persuade people to visit your webstore.

Once a visitor finds your earn money ways by whatever means, you'll want to try to appeal to them to give you their email address by offering something for free on your niche subject. As well as somehow make them an offer for something that will satisfy their need and earn you some money. So you both win.

Of course you can go straight for the sale and skip the "free-info-for-signing-up" routine altogether, but creating an email list has a big benefit factor later on—in the form of more sales.
