With the massive losses suffered in the stock market many baby boomer's are looking for alternate ways to help fund their retirement income. Residual income is a concept that most people have heard of but they believe it's not achievable for them. However, with the popularity of two tier affiliate marketing combined with the Internet home business the possibilities of earning supplemental retirement income are almost endless.

In order to be successful with any two tier affiliate program you must first become a top affiliate yourself. By being a leader in their sales force you will be much better at recruiting new affiliates to add to your team.

In order to become a top affiliate you must learn everything about the product you are selling. Knowledge is king when it comes to successful online marketing and you must first gain as much as possible before you teach your second tier affiliates to be a success. There is no way around this aspect of affiliate marketing. In order for you teach someone to be a success you must first be a success.

Of course statistically many who begin a Internet home business, or any business for that matter, will not be successful. Therefore to believe that they will be able to earn supplemental retirement income from those they recruit with little or no work is unrealistic. However, those that master the two tier affiliate marketing business model are seeing excellent results.

As you become successful you can certainly use that to your advantage when it comes to recruiting affiliates into the programs you are representing. Showing your affiliates real life examples of your success will motivate them to duplicate what you have accomplished.

Concentrating on building a list of successful affiliate marketers that you can mold into a steady steam of income should be your top priority. The benefit of this approach is that as you find new products to promote you will already have a list of successful affiliate marketers that will be promoting another product with you.

The easiest way to do this is by using a autoresponder. This allows you to stay in contact with your affiliates and send them messages of encouragement. This tactic has been used in the network marketing industry for years but is often over looked in affiliate marketing. Sending advice and tips on how to succeed with the occasional sales pitch will dramatically increase your results.

Once you begin to master the concepts of two tier affiliate marketing you may want to develop your own products and bring those people on board to promote that as well. This is where extra income can truly be made if you have the properly trained and motivated affiliates under you.

As with any sales business this will become a numbers game and there is no way around that. You will see affiliates come and go many not realizing the true potential of what you are offering. However, over time your list of success oriented affiliate marketers will continue to grow and with it you will be creating a supplemental retirement income.
