As Global Warming and Climate Change start to show us that they are indeed a real advent of our modern society, when do we get to a point and say, well some things just have to change!

If we are to try and leave this planet in a way for our kids that we are happy about, we need to now look at environmentally friendly products that reduce our energy needs and also reduce the demand for raw materials that these products suck from the earth. My key focus for this article today is the electric tumble dryer or electric clothes drying devices, as I feel these types of products can easily be replaced with modern day eco friendly products for the drying of laundry and washing.

The main environmental aspect of using these eco friendly products is that your homes eco foot print is minimised, as the CO2 emissions produced for powering tumble dryers are reduced or eliminated altogether.

As the electric tumble dryer is one of the largest energy consuming devices in the home, if we can eliminate its use the home owner wins, the planet wins and ultimately the people that live throughout the world also become winners as well.

This also has a flow-on effect in the home as your electric and energy bills are reduced, your clothing smells better plus lasts longer, and you have more money in your back pocket to spend how you please, not just pour into ever increasing utility bills.

Throughout the world today there are a huge range of environmentally friendly products for drying washing and laundry available, which can either be purchased through your local hardware store, department store or over the internet.

There are specially designed products for example that attach to your ceiling, so you raise your laundry up towards the roof or ceiling and harness the warm air trapped in these regions of your home.

Another type of device is the rotary washing line or clothes line that is for outdoor use, which uses the suns warmth and energy to dry your washing at no cost to you or the environment.

Portable washing line and clothes lines are also very popular as they allow you to dry your clothes outside in the sun on a fine day or inside using your homes warmth on a miserable or rainy day.

I believe that with all these environmentally friendly drying products available today, there will come a time when we see a large shift away from the electric tumble dryer and maybe even its ultimate demise, which I do not see as a bad thing at all!

Kelly is a very keen eco friendly writer and writes for Eco Washing Lines and also Mrs Peggs Handy Line
