It wasn't that long ago that personal training was reserved for the elite. Hollywood celebrities, professional athletes, successful businessmen and the upperclass were the only people that were thought to be able to afford this "luxury" item.

Thankfully, times have changed. More and more people are now realizing the benefit of hiring a personal trainer. Let's be honest, although living a healthy and fit life is not rocket science, it can be a frustrating and confusing endeavor because of the amount of information available today.

Enter the Fitness Professional: An experienced and qualified trainer will be able to lead his/her clients through the muck and mire of fitness information overload. Good trainers have the ability to help their clients not only change their bodies but their lifestyle as well. There is no shortage of testimonials to the benefit of a personal trainer.

However, these life-changing sessions do not come cheap. It is not uncommon for personal training to cost between $50-$200/hour depending on the location and demand of certain trainers. In our current economic crisis these rates add up quickly and unfortunatey do not allow many to take advantage of these services.

Enter Fitness Bootcamps. Over the last 2 years there has been a rise in the popularity of fitness bootcamps. These group training sessions are really the best of both worlds for all involved. Clients receive great life-changing coaching at the fraction of the cost of a personal training session while trainers get to influence and help more people in all economic conditions. Most fitness bootcamps sessions will cost between $15-$20 per session which is less then half the cost of a one on one session.

Bootcamps may still seem expensive to some but if you compare the cost of a bootcamp to the monthly cost of your average gym ($50-$70/month) that gives you no guidance, direction or support, it really is a no brainer. Actually the average attendance at local gym is only 1-4 times per month which works out to approximately $10-$20/visit.

Fitness Bootcamps are located all over the nation and can usually be found by googling (Your City) fitnes bootcamps. These popular camps are not just a fad and have been ranked as high as number 1 on fitness trends for 2009. If you don't already, you will probably know someone participating in a fitness bootcamp in a very short time. Give it a try and take advantage of the expertise of a personal trainer at a fraction of the cost

Kirk Ream, CSCS is the founder of a wildly popular Carlisle fitness camp, called Get Fit Carlisle, that provides the best personal training in Carlisle, PA for only a third of the cost. For more information check out http://www.getfitcarlisle.com
