The Internet is changing the way we learn and explore. This process started with the introduction of television and was strongly reinforced by the internet. As a baby boomer I was taught to read books. My children do most of their learning in front of a computer.

How is this relevant to Internet marketing?

Video and audio presentations by computer access our basic learning processes directly. We scan rather than read from a screen. This allows market access to a form of subliminal teaching. The most effective method is audio / visual input reinforced by supporting text.

Flash Ads & Intros provide an opportunity to use this loophole into the brain. The audio / visual advertisement or introduction provides an easy access to the material. The text supporting the website video really only functions as a confidence booster and reinforcement opportunity.

Squeeze pages are very effective when using Flash Ads & Intro presentations. They function to capture the attention and impart a message about the product or service being offered by the entire site. They also provide a measure of comfort and confidence by allowing the prospect an opportunity to get to know you.

The most effective squeeze pages use 3 video presentations of less than a minute each. The first usually builds credibility and requests the name and email address. The second addresses the benefits of the free white paper or eBook and the third is a harder sell termination with a clear call to action and directions for the customer such as "Fill in the form below to receive your free white paper, don't miss out as this is offer is limited to the first 500 people who sign up.".

Video product presentation on the other hand is quite effective to showcase each individual product. People will only view the products that interest them. This is often best situated in a shopping cart situation or on the "more info" page for the product. This video should stress the benefits of ownership, not the technical niceties of the product. Think about this, you are selling a sports car, the prospect is not interested in the technical details of the twin overhead fox tails, he or she wants only the feeling of being able to leave the masses behind at the lights.

Website video presentations are a medium that can be very appealing and are able to instill desire and confidence in the product or service being sold. They replace a truck load of text.
