Psoriasis is a skin disease that affects how fast skin cells mature and flake off. In a normal skin cell cycle, skin cells take about a month to move from the deepest skin layer to the top skin layer, where they die and flake off. When you have psoriasis, this process only takes a few days. What results is the formation of thick silvery scales and dry itchy skin. Painful red patches can also develop. For most people, it is just an appearance issue because psoriasis can be very unsightly as skin flakes off. But sometimes it can be debilitating if it is linked to arthritis. Psoriasis is a long term condition and there is no definite cure. But there are ways to reduce the appearance of psoriasis the natural way. Read on to discover some of the natural treatments for psoriasis.

A lot of people have used oregano with great success to help with their psoriasis symptoms. It can be taken internally or applied locally. But be aware that oregano can cause contact dermatitis for some people.
