Over the years, man has never ceased the search for that elusive elixir of youth that will prevent man from growing old and altogether dying. Legend and folktales talk about that "fountain of youth" whose water when drank will keep you forever young and immortal.

More than these folktales, man in reality has indeed always been looking for anti aging ways consulting the gods, discovering secrets of the depths of the ocean, digging into the earth, searching through the forests, and every possible place where that secret to staying young can be found.

Ancient Egyptian and Chinese civilizations have early records on the pursuit of anti aging ingredients and ways to extend life.

For someone it is common top dread the idea of how one looks like when those old years start to haunt you- gray hair, receding hairline, weak and brittle bones, disease 'laden life, and a not so good idea of having memory loss.

Of course, everybody would love to keep that youthful glow and that indefatigable energy and spirit even during the prime age.

Modern medical science has gone a long way and has made countless milestones and breakthroughs in improving human health and prolonging the lifespan of men. The invention and discoveries of medicines and treatments to diseases have started that quest to even gain that most desired result of delaying the aging process, and who knows possibly stopping death, though for right now, it is still highly impossible.

But as what mentioned, aging can really be slowed down. Before you even think of those costly surgeries, medicines, and anti aging creams, think about what nature around us has in abundance to help you slow down the aging process and lessen the debilitating effects of aging years.

Yes, even your body itself has millions of mechanisms to combat the weakening effects of aging.

The big secret, which is really not a secret, as most medical professionals would agree, is having a well-supported and maintained immune system. First you have to understand that keeping the immune system well maintained can be a matter of life and death.

This is because it is the body's natural defense against diseases and healing mechanism for illnesses. Keeping it healthy means keeping your entire body healthy and having a sound sense of well-being. How do you do this? It's simply going back the universal basics of health.

One is exercise. Say goodbye to your sedentary life start getting up, move, walk around, and stretch that body. A life of excessive inactivity attracts so many diseases that will surely hasten the aging process.

And of course a very important discipline is a controlled, proper, and well balanced diet and nutrition program that includes fibers, essential vitamins, and minerals, and some oral supplements.

Remember that the adage "You are what you eat" is true.

Keep that zest, that glowing skin and that vibrant spirit that you thought you would never have once you have passed your teen years.
