A conservatory can be had by enclosing a porch or by adding a room to a private dwelling or business. The possibility of making a conservatory from a raised wooden deck or from a cement patio are also intriguing.

The benefits of having a conservatory are in the added room that can also be seen as a sun room. The best thing about a conservatory is that you can enjoy the sun if you want no matter how cold or how hot it is on the outside of the conservatory. A conservatory with a dining table and chairs, potted plants and a server would be a romantic dining area for small parties or for casual family dining. While most people would use outdoor furniture as in brightly colored couches and metallic end tables or a selection of wicker furniture, some might take advantage of the new room with the fabulous glazed windows to expand the kitchen space by moving the table out to the conservatory and adding an island work center to the kitchen.

There are many benefits to having a conservatory, the chief one being the enjoyment of sunlight with the blinds up in the winter which is very healthy for anyone suffering from arthritis or other bone diseases. Imagine getting your sun treatments in the privacy of your own home. There are other benefits of having a conservatory, but the added enclosed space and the health benefits seem to be enough reason to add a conservatory if at all possible.A conservatory will without doubt add value to your home. It is a great selling point should you wish to resell your property.

Many older homes were originally designed with thick paned double windows in alcoves next to kitchens. The kitchen table and chairs were the only furniture in the space except for a few ferns as ornaments. That design is definitely worth keeping and adding a conservatory would be one way of adding a touch of refinement to your existing home. Of course, a conservatory could be used as a greenhouse and study. The added oxygen would be a definite cure for the student or for the at home office. Speaking of which, a home office would be the ideal use of a conservatory if one were added near a bedroom or a dining room.

There are many companies that can be found on the internet that specialise in conservatories. Many will visit your property and advise you as to what options are available in the space available.
