Getting ripped abs is no easy process. Although it is possible, many people just do not have the right mind frame in order to get a nice six-pack. It takes work, it takes patience, and more than that it takes a hard work ethic and determination to succeed at all costs.

The most important factor in getting ripped abs is the eating the right foods on a constant and consistent basis. I'm not talking about eating good for just a few weeks or months either. I mean if you really want ripped abs, you have to choose to eat good and healthy all of the time...permanently!

Abs are made in the kitchen. These words hold the honest truth. Most people think that if you do enough sit-ups or crunches they can get ripped abs. Wrong! In fact, spot reducing the belly is the absolute wrong way to go about it. Ripped abs comes from using an overall body workout and using exercises that works the biggest muscles in the body and only indirectly works the abs.

What most people don't realize is that underneath all that belly blubber lies a nice strong core. So sit-ups and crunches aren't going to do much more than just strengthen those muscles but they will still be hidden. You have to first rid yourself of the fat, then you will notice how nice your abs already are without even doing any ab specific exercises.

To get rid of all the unwanted fat covering your midsection you need to understand that 90% of your efforts is your diet, and the other 10% will be exercise. If you think you can eat what you want and still get ripped abs from exercise, you are going to have to reevaluate your fitness goals because it just wont happen.

It used to be that people that wanted to lose the fat or weight would go on a low fat or no fat diet. This however only makes your body store more fat for longer when it does get fat. A well balanced diet that is high in protein is the best way to lose fat. Also eating smaller meals more times rather than just a few big meals will really help speed up your metabolism and fat burning hormones.

So if you are not sure just what a well balanced diet involves, become knowledgeable. Go out and seek the information you need to lose that fat and develop ripped abs. No matter how fat you think you are, the right amount of work can get you wherever you want.
