Most everyone who is promoting a home based business is using article marketing as a major source of promotion. Writing articles can bring very targeted traffic to your website if done correctly. Unfortunately not everyone knows how to write articles the correct way.

The number one aspect to consider when writing your article is to get it placed high in the search engines by using proper keywords. Selecting the right keywords will take some time to research but will be well worth the effort. You'll want to find some keywords that will land you traffic but will not be too hard to compete against. There are plenty of free tools online to help you choose your keywords.

Once you have selected your keywords you will want to write your article incorporating the keywords throughout the article. The key here is to place your keywords strategically so your article will not appear spammed with the keywords and still make sense to the reader. The quality and readability of the article is much more important than just throwing your keywords all over it.

Many internet marketers make the mistake of writing articles hastily and without rereading what they just wrote. Be sure your article is well written, easy to read and comprehend, and is informative as well. If your article is not readable, your readers will never get to the end of the article to find your resource box and visit your website.

There are two steps taken by your potential customers that anyone writing an article must be aware of. First the potential customer has to find the article. Second, the person has to read through it and find enough value in it to want to learn more and click on your link.

Here are a few tips on writing articles to get potential customers to follow this two step process.

Come up with a catchy title. A good title may be the make or break whether or not someone reads your article. Take your time here. Good titles have to grab someones attention by making a bold statement, asking an important question, answering a problem, or so off the wall that they just have to read it.

Next, your introduction should grab the readers attention and make them want to read more.

The body of the article should contain three of four main points and should answer what you promised in the introduction. Each main point should consist of about three of four sentences.

Finally, the conclusion should wrap up all of what the article was about. A well written conclusion should leave the reader wanting more as well. You want them to follow up by clicking your resource box to see what else you have to offer.

Keep to these main points when writing articles for your home based business and you will do just fine. The more you write the better you will get so practice, practice, practice.

You will also want to submit your articles to the best article directories as well. A good distribution service will really help ease the burden of having to submit your articles all over the internet.
