Plaster is a great material that can be used for a multitude of fun projects. Here is a look at just a few of the creative things you can do with plaster.
Changing the Look of the Ceiling
We all look at the ceiling at least a few times a day. For most of us, there is little thought given to the way it affects the overall look and feel of our home. Yet, the ceiling is a great place to look when taking on a plastering project. You may want to give some thought to using plaster to create an elegant design on the ceiling that compliments the color and theme of the home. This will take some planning and some work. But, once the job is done, it could be a great addition to any home.
Giving the Kids' Room a Bit More Personality
Many people like to paint their children's rooms in multiple bright colors and maybe even throw in a balloon or two. With the help of plaster and a little paint, however, you can make a three-dimensional forest or other landscape that will be a marvel for your youngster for years to come. Again it's a project that will take some know how and patience but so does painting.
Add Character to a Patio or Deck
Most patios and decks are fairly flat and undecorated. With the use of some plaster, however, you can create a look of cobblestone, weathered stonework or a number of other ideas. All it takes is some thought and time and you can have a patio that stands out from all the others.
Create Your Own Personal Art Wall
Maybe you have always wanted to be an artist, but never had the opportunity. With plaster you can select a wall and then use it to help create the base for the art project you have always wanted to do. The best part is that, if you don't like how it came out, a sander and some hard work will give you a new surface to practice on again.
Spruce Up the Brick Work
Brick has a beauty that is all its own, but it can sometimes be a bit plain. With the use of plaster and some creative input, however, you can have a new looking wall in no time. As with any home improvement project, you will want to consult with a professional plasterer before getting too involved so you can make sure you don't make an uncorrectable mistakes. Or, you might want to consider taking some plastering courses so you will be certain to know precisely how the job should be done.
