Is it Essential to have a Website if You Want to Make Money Online?

There are two different points of view on whether or not it is essential to have a website in order to make money online and we will discuss this in this article. You will then be able to decide for yourself which way you feel is best for you.

Firstly let me say right now that it is possible to make money on the internet with or without a website.

Making money without a website! There are a few different methods that can be used to make money without necessarily having your own website.

1. One of the ways that you can make money without having your own website is to use affiliate marketing. When you join an affiliate program the company will provide a sales page with your affiliate link on it and you can use this to advertise their product. Every time somebody clicks on this page with your affiliate link attached and purchases the product you will get paid a commission.

Or instead of using the company's sales page you could make a splash page that they sign up on and it will then take them to the sales page. You will need an autoresponder to do this. You would then be able to capture their names and addresses and in this way build up a list of prospective buyers to whom you could over time, sell more product.

The important point to remember if using an autoresponder in order to build a list is that you need to build a relationship with these people. It is only once they get to know and trust you that your chances of selling products to them will increase. It is important to be able to give those people who subscribe to your list something that is of value to them. This could be in the form of advice or a product such as an eBook that can be useful to them.

2. First off let me say that having a website is a great way to run an internet based business.

When you have a website of your own you are in control of everything about it. You can pre-sell products to your visitors by creating review pages and promote those with any of the affiliate programs you offer before you pass them through to the affiliate sales page. You can also sell your own products from your website.

In fact by having a website you can promote everything you wish to from one place. Another great method to use is blogging. Many people today make money directly from their blogs, and for people who enjoy blogging, by monetizing their blogs and posting to them regularly they will become well known and there are many people earning excellent incomes in this way.

In the end it is all a question of how you wish to run your internet based business and what goals you have set for yourself. Either way you can make money on the internet, so it comes down to what you feel comfortable doing.
