Your Satisfying Senior Sex May be Tanking in Your Kitchen

It's simple: what happens in the kitchen affects what can happen in the bedroom.

So watch what you eat, and how much you eat, if you want to improve your love'n.

If you're not careful, you'll eat too much of what can interfere with satisfying senior sex, and too little of what can be helpful.

Let's take the bad news first. Remember for great senior sex you need both the chemistry and hydraulics of your body to be in good working order. If not, your heart and arteries will be weaker, likely to be clogged, and your nerves will be unable to send the signals you need to act on desire.

Most people know the biggest culprits. They're the ones that cause of the "obesity epidemic", too much:

- Salt
- Sugar
- Fat

You must have heard the news. Newspapers, magazines, and tv are full of scare stories about the results of overweight and obesity.

What they usually don't talk about is the impact of obesity or even overweight on your love life.

But, if you are already obese, or even just overweight, you already know.

You don't have the energy you used to have. It's harder to lug around a larger body.

Your big thighs and belly get in the way when making love. Finding a satisfying position is harder and harder. It can be just impossible to maneuver into some of your previously favorite positions.

Many overweight people don't feel as attractive, or see their mate as attractive, when they are heavier. Often they won't want anyone, even their love, to see them without clothes on.

If your obesity has progressed to being considered a "Metabolic Disorder" or on to Type 2 Diabetes, you may already be suffering from permanent nerve damage. Your nerves are no longer are able to send the signals your body needs to make the changes sufficient for intercourse.

While it's easy to see how this can affect men, women are not immune from the effects of nerve damage. You too won't be able to get the blood flow of excitement and engorgement that enables satisfaction.

Too much fat clogs the pipes you need to get all that blood to where it will do the most good. Worse, it leads to permanent inflammation which turns into damage to both nerves and arteries.

Bottom line: eat a lot, become overweight, ruin your love life. It's an easy problem to have, not so easy to combat.

Especially since most diets don't work.

When I was conducting weight management classes, our motto was:

A diet is a short period of deprivation followed by a ten pound weight gain.

The sad truth: most people gain more weight after they've been on a diet so they soon weigh more than what they weighed before they started dieting.

The only thing that will get your weight to where it will work with you in improving your love life is changing your lifestyle, what you eat on a regular basis.

My best tip for starting that process: shop only on the perimeter of the grocery store. And be really careful when you get to the bakery.

Most stores stock the staples, the simple, close to the farms and gardens foods, on the perimeter: milk, meat, produce.

The prepared foods, convenience foods, are in the aisles. Most of them loaded with hidden fat, sugar, and salt.You have to pass them to get to the more healthy foods on the perimeter of the store.

By eating more simple foods, as close to the ground as you can get, you'll automatically be eating less sugar, salt and caffeine. And for the most part fat.

Just watch out for the butter and the whole milk.

You'll also get more chewing or as my grammy said, "More bulk, more bulk, keeps you regular."
