With the global concerns for the Earth's renewable resources, this is high time to discuss the resources used up even in simple everyday life like our alarm clocks. In this article, we feature the environment friendly way to sustain our alarm clocks by using rechargeable battery.

These alarm clocks using rechargeable cells or batteries are featured as to offer more environment-friendly benefits as compared to their disposable battery counterparts. In the long run, it is claimed by many to be more economical. In terms of the availability of rechargeable cells, these rechargeable battery types come in various sizes like the disposable types so I think that would not be problem.

In terms of its impact to the environment, dry cells like batteries used for common household gadgets compose a sizable percentage of the total solid waste coming from households every year worldwide. By using the rechargeable type alarm clock, this can help minimize solid waste coming from dead batteries. This, in return, can mean less solid waste pollution over the long term.

Switching from Non-rechargeable to rechargeable - Is it worth it?

Before deciding to switch to rechargeable batteries for your alarm clock, consider that the rechargeable battery may have a higher cost than the disposable type batteries at the beginning. You will however see the true difference over a period of a few months. This is because the rechargeable batteries can be recharged thus giving you savings compared to purchasing the common non-rechargeable batteries. This nonetheless depends on your personal or household battery consumption.

As a rule of thumb, the more batteries you consume every month, the better to switch to non-rechargeable types because the start up cost will be recovered as fast as possible. Therefore, you will save more money from the initial investment on your rechargeable cells over the short time period. If you personally have a number of heavy-use gadgets, then it is more worthwhile to choose these rechargeable types.

I am personally convinced that every home that uses even just a single device consuming high quantity of non-rechargeable dry cells must look at this rechargeable option seriously. As a consideration before the decision to switch, remember that it takes some time to recover your initial investment with the more expensive rechargeable power source. Within a few months of use, the savings from this rechargeable types is indeed good you.

So, trying the rechargeable battery alarm clocks can be a good step towards switching with other rechargeable gadgets too. After all, it is both economical and environment-friendly in the long run.
