Learning how to write a proper resume takes time and effort. Many people find creating a winning resume a chore, which is a shame as a well written resume is your key to getting the job of your dreams. On the other hand if you have a steady work history or are staying in the same field of work, the chronological format will be more suitable. The chronological resume layout is the most familiar and generally lists your previous work history. It does not pay a great deal of attention to acquired skills or accomplishments. It's also the format that many hiring managers are comfortable with.
The final layout is the hybrid resume. This is simply a combination of the functional layout and the chronological layout and is suitable for those wanting to highlight their skills which can be transferred from one employer to another. You can also use this format when your acquired skills are strong and beneficial to the prospective employer or if your previous working history is different to the career you are considering moving into.
