I recently had an opportunity to talk with Chris A. Hutcherson about his beginning career. I was surprised to learn that he started as a teacher! I know that Chris A. Hutcherson is a skilled businessman, but I also discovered that he is a lover of the arts. Marketing expert and fundraising wizard Chris A. Hutcherson got his start as a Junior High and High School at the Deer Park Independent School District. Even at this stage in his career Chris A. Hutcherson was inspiration and it is this inspiration and his love of music that he passed on to his students as a band teacher. He even occasionally served for teachers who needed to be absent as a choir director and orchestra teacher.

But not only was he a teacher, he was a teacher that expected and got the best from his students. He taught Junior High and High School band for nine years. In that time, his bands won many awards and honors, including Sweepstakes. He also led his band to be named the Outstanding Band at the Mardi Gras Parade.

Teaching on a Shoe String Budget

Because of his long service as a teacher in a traditionally underfunded discipline, Chris A. Hutcherson learned first-hand how desperately schools often need money. He believes in a well-rounded education and understands how important the arts are to a well-educated person. He also understands that when budgets get tight, the arts are often the first discipline to experience budget cuts. Chris wanted to do something to help fund these very important programs.

Chris A. Hutcherson's passion for students and the arts led him to serve a long stint with Children's Heroes - a unique system through which electronic merchant rebates could go to help fund necessary programs in schools across America. His great success with this company helped hundreds of schools and thousands of students. He never forgets, however, that these great successes belong to the lessons he has learned in service to his community as a teacher.

Chris continues on his mission to help children and the institutions that serve children. His career has led him down many paths, and his current path, as CEO of the largest Internet Television Company in the world has given him the opportunity to continue to fulfill his life long goal of helping children. As Chris looks back on his career as a teacher he knows how important financial support is to our schools and has made it is mission, through his business, to give schools the ability to keep the arts as part of their curriculum.
