There is no doubt that people can increase the probably of their success by doing one specific activity: reading. The next step is figuring out what to read. Doing a search for any topic will probably reveal more books than you could read in a lifetime. So how do you make the most of the reading time you have available?

In multilevel or network marketing, there are book in several areas that can be extremely useful. There are books on leadership, books on networking, books on goal setting, and books on motivation. Even though there are lots of areas to choose from, start with books in an area where you need the most help.

Next look at who wrote the book. Lots of people claim to be "experts," but look closely at what they have done and how long ago then did it. For example, someone who claims to be an expert network marketer. Look for their biography. You should be able to find all kinds of information on them on the web. If you can't, that tells you the person may not be the most up-to-date in their methods. What company (or companies) have they been involved with? Were they able to build a successful business (or better yet successful businesses)? How long were they with the company (or companies)? How many people that worked with them also became successful?

How good is your expert? Remember, an expert is just a "DRIP" under pressure. Who are you learning from and what are they really teaching? Could be like give me money and I can help and all you find out is that you are now out of money.

Maybe the most important question is how long ago did they do this? Network marketing changes with the speed of light. Some fundamentals remain the same, but the methodologies of how you get there have changed dramatically. Reading books on network marketing that are outdated can be a waste of time, particularly since there are newer books available. The exception to this would be an author that has been in the business for a long period of time and written books over that time. What they knew then and what they have learned since then can be valuable information.

You can learn something from almost anything you read. But wouldn't it be better to learn a lot every time you read? Keep that idea in mind when you are looking for your next book.
