Samsung E2510 can be simply understood as the best possible purchase meant for folks searching for some quality within a budgeted purchase. This Samsung offering has been smartly designed to offer all the basic and few extra functionalities but does away with the glam factor, as it is a basic-level, performance-oriented device. For starters, the E2510 is a flip phone but it saves on costs by avoiding double display screen — so you have no external display and this immensely helps to keep it within the targeted price bracket.

Simple but the Samsung E2510 Delivers: from the outside, the phone does give the impression of being higher priced than its actual cost, thanks to the shell-shaped design that gives it a very neat and smart appearance. The screen is not very small at 1.9 inches and for such dimensions, a resolution of 128 x 160 pixels does seem good enough. The images don't blur and the smaller ones are quite sharp. There is a pronounced silver lining that could be easily mistaken for a steel rimming that is associated with higher-end phones. The overall design elements are basic and emphasize usability rather than trying to impress you. The clamshell design ensures that that the maximum features are incorporated in the smallest possible space and though the keypad might look a bit clustered, it is easy-to-use.

To maximize space on the inside, all the volume controls, SD slots and the music control keys have been packed along the outer upper edge and are easy-to-handle after you get accustomed to them. Being a budgeted offering, there are not too many options but some degree of creativity has been infused. For example, the menu display theme could be chosen from the three standard ones that are offered — the basic Samsung Theme, purple colored Plum theme and blue primary-colored Celestial theme.

Appreciable Features: the VGA-quality camera has a basic pin-hole type lens that is found near the top horizontal surface of the phone and it can be easily used even when the phone is flipped open. It may sound unbelievable, but even for its unbelievably low price, the phone offers some useful features like flash, night mode, auto focus and red eye which are a bit unusual since the camera's resolution is average at 640 x 480 pixels. Further, image editing has been made easier with the Samsung photo editor. It has a dedicated music player which complies with music in the MP3 format and transmits FM broadcasts with amazing clarity. Bluetooth 2.0 is also offered and it can be used to download data from other mobiles or the PC. There is a micro-SD that can accommodate up to 2 GB of memory along with 15 MB of user memory.

Verdict: for its targeted audience, the Samsung E2510 does make a lot of sense, providing all the basic features along with some unexpected additions at a price that is hard to beat. There aren't many other options that can compete with it and offer Bluetooth, VGA Camera and GPRS in this bracket and this is the E2510's defining quality.
