Pure weight loss can be attained by the successful loss of fat in the body. The key is knowing how to burn the fat and not the muscle. In this article I'll explain how to burn fat instead of lean muscle tissue so you'll be on your way to looking trimmer and healthier.

I want to start off by saying that it is going to take a little work on your part to see the results you want. If your under the impression that a magic pill is going to bring you the results you desire, your wrong. These pills or supplements can aid in the burning of fat but should not be the only thing you do in an effort to acquire pure weight loss.

I bet you would never guess but there is a secret to sustained fat loss. It comes in the form of a healthy diet and exercise. I know, I know, it's not what you wanted to hear. Nobody wants to hear about exercise and diet, most would rather jump off a cliff. Listen, it's not that bad, it is really easier than you think.

Your not going to be required to go cross country skiing for an hour if that is what your fearing. I bet you did not realize that your body begins to utilize it's stores of fat after a period of sixteen minutes or so. Look it up. This amount of time is based on each individual's physical makeup. In the first fifteen minutes your body will be utilizing it's carbohydrate stores. You will want to exercise beyond this point for at least ten minutes to make sure you have dipped into your body's fat stores.

A side not here, you don't want to lose muscle. Why? You see, muscle burns more calories. When you lose that muscle you lessen your fat burning machine. You ideally want to gain muscle to aid in the burning of fat. For this reason you need to stay away from crash dieting. This type of dieting will deplete the muscle in your body leading to an ineffective fat burning machine.

One last thing, if you notice that your weight is not dropping as fast as you would like, don't get discouraged. What you may not know is that this is entirely normal. If your following a pure weight loss regimen involving eating right and exercise to build a little muscle, your body will be exchanging muscle for fat in the early stages. Try to stay positive, you may even notice that your pants fit better even though you haven't lost any weight.

One last thing, don't limit your exercise to aerobic activity. Although good, you want to work some weight lifting into your routine. This can kick start your metabolism if it gets stuck in a rut. Remember, muscle burns fat so muscle is good.
