There is a lot of controversy over choosing the right domain name.

You will hear the keyword you are targeting should be in the URL and then you will read you should have your business name in the URL. One article will say hyphens are okay and another says never use a hyphen.

How do you choose a really good URL for your website?

It basically all gets down to the fact of being remembered. You want people to be able to type in your URL from memory. This means it must be easy. No hyphens or underscore or numbers that can be spelled out.

It must be catchy and easily spelled with no special characters. Anything out of the ordinary leaves room for doubt in someone's mind when they are typing your URL from memory.

Think outside the box here. Think about some of the top names, Google, Yahoo, MySpace, YouTube. Be original and be remembered. I have never misspelled Google or Yahoo, have you?

Type in several names when searching for URL's because if one is not available you will be given suggestions for alternate website names.

Don't buy the first one that is available, because as you search you will see and think of new ideas, many times much better than your original idea.

The shortest amount of letters is best, this is where thinking outside the box comes in handy. Sometimes your name might have nothing at all to do with your company name or what you are selling.

Your main objective is to have your URL remembered and be easy enough that it is not misspelled or confused, because if this happens the money you spent on advertising to drive the traffic to the URL will be wasted.

If the URL is easy to remember and easily typed in the address bar, then your money spent driving the traffic will be very effective at branding your website.

Using this type of technique, with organized and well planned search engine optimization strategies, over time you will be able to spend less and less on offline advertising because your branding and search engine optimization efforts will have paid off.

This is truly one of the best automatic internet marketing agencies strategies utilized.

So when you are thinking of a good website name try to think of some of the benefits of the product and look for names that describe them. There are many ways to be creative and think outside the box to come up with unforgettable URL's, just let your imagination take over.

Imagination is probably the best internet marketing agencies strategies secret for making lots of money on the internet.
