You have joined a network marketing company. You feel that you have a great product to offer and are eager to show the business to others. You make your lists of contacts and you show your plan and opportunity. You expect the same excitement from them and they say no. How quickly the air has just got out of the bubble. How discouraging is that? You now feel, did I make the right decision?
Did you ever stop and think why people did not join your network marketing business? Is it your approach, your product, or people just don't like network marketing because they think it's some pyramid scheme?
We are not going to hit it off with everyone so don't take it personally. Network marketing is a relationship business. Are you confident among your friends and peers? If so, you need to develop the same confidence with your business. If you come off unsure or negative, why would anybody want to team up with you? You may be a nice person and fun to be around but getting involved in a business is different. Spend some time with your sponsor and upline and learn more about your business. Use them on three way calls, you have your friends relationship, your sponsor has the knowledge. As you learn more your confidence will grow.
Maybe you are confident but they don't like your product. This may be true but the fact is most people hate to be sold. If a telemarketer called you right now how receptive to his product would you be. We all have a natural defense mechanism built in to reject that kind of message. As great as your product might be it stills starts with the relationship between you and your recruit, not the product and your recruit.
"Is it some type of pyramid scheme"? There are many people who prejudge and have some preconceived idea as to how network marketing works. People don't hat pyramid type of pay scales. Do you know anyone working in corporate America? It all works the same, instead of calling it your upline, you have layers of management. The people that fail in network marketing give mlm a bad rap. Most fail because they don't work hard. They expect the upline above to do their work. If you did that in corporate America you would get fired. So is it a pyramid scheme or is it you? The big difference with network marketing is that you have much greater monetary rewards and get to choose your boss. It can't get any better than that.
Try to cut your ties with the doom and gloomers, they will drag you down. Take a good look in the mirror and tell yourself that it all start with me. You are not going to have everyone sign up for your business, but with the right attitude and hard work, you will be successful. Hold you head high, enjoy your business and get to work!
