It seems today that goal setting has become a number one life achievement strategy. We are taught to set our goals and to make sure they are realistic and achievable. We dare not dream too big or for too much because it would not be realistic or it would be above our means. Often we set goals we know we can reach with just a little effort and never really push our self to the extreme. We set goals that are comfortable. Napoleon Hill made a very true statement, "Dream big dreams; Only big dreams have the power to move men's souls". Stay at home moms, you can get what you want out of life by dreaming big, setting big goals, and taking the actions needed to reach those goals.
Often we set our goals so low they become boring and mundane causing us to loose interest in them. They never really go away but they are put aside until later. Big goals and dreams motivate us to action. They cause us to take the extra step each day to accomplish them. Still there are those things in our lives that stop us from getting what we want out of life.
Procrastination, it is a definite goal killer. We are all in one way or another guilty of procrastinating. Overcoming it can be a challenge in itself but in reality it is very simple. All you need do is ask yourself if what you are doing right now is moving you towards your goals or is it something that is keeping you from your goals. All stay at home moms have things that need to be done each day that are a part of life but do we keep doing those things when they are not needed. There are many distractions in life and things we would rather be doing than building a business and working towards our goals. It takes determination to fight through the distractions and to do what we know has to be done. By accomplishing the daily task that must be done you are pushing yourself one step closer to accomplishing your dreams. By putting those little things off until later you are putting your dreams to the side.
Procrastination can also come because of the faith you have in yourself and the goals you have set. If you do not believe they can be accomplished you can easily quit trying. If your goals are to small to actually matter you will also quit trying. Faith in yourself and in what you are trying to accomplish is the number one needed ingredient. A strong desire to reach your goals and to change the direction of your life is just as important. if you have faith and desire there is absolutely nothing that can stop you no matter how big your dreams.
Setting big goals and pursuing big dreams can motivate you beyond what you thought you were capable of doing. Smaller more minor goals are just as important in staying motivated to reach your big goals. You smaller goals can be used to build upon your larger ones. You may have a goal of one day owning a thriving online business and you know certain things must be accomplished to reach that goal. Suppose you understand that you will need a website and a mailing list of 500 names plus a business blog and a marketing strategy. Each one of these business building items are a goal in themselves and when accomplished push you one step closer to your ultimate goal. Each accomplishment will motivate you to push on to get the next item completed. As more and more of your smaller goals are completed you will know you are that much closer to accomplishing your dream.
While procrastination is the death of your dreams, action is the life of your dreams. Take the time to decide what you really want as opposed to what you are willing to settle for. Then write those dreams down and turn them into goals. Make them as big as you actually want them to be. Then write down what it will take to get what you really want and make these your smaller goals. Once that is don,e set the time aside each day to accomplish one of the smaller goals. Don't put it off until later or let things get in your way. Go after each goal with a purpose, and you will soon find you are making a major accomplishment that will get you where you want to be. This will cause you to push even harder and to accomplish even more. Stay at home moms can get what they want out of life by simply staying motivated. Having big dreams can be the motivation you need.
