Thanks to online pioneers like Armand Morin, Russell Brunson, Marlon Sanders, and Jim Edwards; the trail for succeeding on Web 2.0 is full of cash cows waiting to be milked for all they're worth.
But without information and without resources most people continue to allow the same old obstacles to keep themselves stuck in an unsatisfying job, a grueling commute, or a lifestyle that sucks! So what do you do? You can go to big seminar after big seminar, you can buy books, and listen to CD's but you must weed through all this stuff to find the best sources of accurate, up-to-date information before you start an online business.
Take a look in the mirror. To succeed online take a good look at how your life is going right now and how your belief system is helping or hindering your success. As a business strategist, I've heard every excuse you can imagine about why people believe they can't start their own online business.
If you could change your belief system, just a little bit, you could dramatically change your life! Here are some of the typical obstacles I've heard people complain about and what can be done to overcome them. The gurus of Internet marketing like Armand Morin, Russell Brunson, Marlon Sanders, and Jim Edwards are making millions because they've learned to overcome obstacles like these, not just complain about them.
1. Alone to the Bone Many wonderful business opportunities die on the vine because the entrepreneur is afraid to go it alone. With the Internet you are never alone. Learning how to use this vast resource to do the writing, marketing, and selling for you is easy once you understand the basics.
2. Information Intimidation The greatest secret to starting your own business is to keep things simple and don't let too much information intimidate you. Take classes and network with successful people to find out what is truly most important. Don't ask your brother-in-law who doesn't own a computer his opinion. Ask the experts.
3. Funny Money Risking your money is no laughing matter but waiting for your budget to be in perfect condition to launch your business brings me to tears. The Internet allows you to start small, outsource all kinds of business functions, and keep risk to a minimum.
4. I'm Timeless - Turn off the boob-tube and you'll find tons of time to start your own business. Change your priorities to free up some time and start building a business that will pay you 24/7 so you can have more free time!
5. Product Vacuum You don't need a product to start a business. There are millions of dollars being made every day by people who have started home businesses using the Internet to market other people's products. You don't have to make it or ever even see it to sell it. Learn to leverage the power of the Internet. It's easier once you know the steps.
6. If it's Easy it's Sleazy - There are so many slick and persuasive marketing letters, emails, and websites out there that make everything sound like it's so easy. The truth is, some of it is easy but most of us will have to put in a little effort. Notice, I didn't say, "Put in a lot of hard work?" The old school of thinking is that to feel like you've earned a buck you had to break a sweat. That's no longer true. Finding a business that fits your time, knowledge, and interests is the secret.
7. Butt-Stuck Syndrome If you don't have the motivation to change your life and you're happy to see your hind end get a little wider in that chair then you're stuck. If there is no desire for change and the thought of putting out a little effort holds you back then be at peace with where you are because your butt is stuck and the view ain't going to change!
8. Focus Factor The old business school says if you can't focus you can't succeed. No longer true in the Internet world. The secret is to find a business that runs itself. Online affiliate programs are a good example. You can set up a website, get people to visit it and promote other people's products (for a nice commission) without a whole lot of effort. Now if you COULD focus, you could open 100 more websites using the exact same approach and make a few hundred bucks a month on each of them. Let's see, 300 bucks times100 websites, oh, that's a measly $30,000 a month!
9. Procrastination Nation If you're a card-carrying member of the Procrastination Nation, then turn in your resignation today! About 90-some percent of the wealth in this country is controlled by 2% of our population. Why is that? Is it because wealthy people are sitting around watching Jeopardy? Nope. Successful people take action, they never give up, and they do what it takes to get what they want. Procrastination is a death sentence for great ideas and great people.
If there is something in your heart you've been just waiting to do but haven't felt like the timing is right, consider this
the timing is right! Change a few of those old beliefs and you might just change your life!
