There are many things to learn in order to know how to play the violin. Playing violin is not as easy as pressing on piano keys to produce a sound or strumming the guitar strings to make a melody. Playing violin is much more complicated because you will need to learn first how to play a violin with the proper posture and holding of instrument. Posture and holding of the instrument is essential in order to make the instrument make a sound and preventing stiff necks or muscle aches.

To begin with, the proper holding of the instrument is done by placing the violin under the chin with the support of the shoulder. When the instrument does not fall when the hand let go of it, then it is the proper placement of the violin before playing. The back and shoulders should be straight in order to prevent muscle aches. After learning the proper posture and holding the instrument, one can now start to play the instrument.

In order to play a violin, one will have to enroll in a music class having violin as its major, or one can study under a good violinist, or the simplest would be to search for books on how to play a violin. There are also online lessons being provided for beginners and they are all over the web and easily accessible. The lessons that one must look into first are the lessons on music. It is essential to learn music because it is the foundation of playing many musical instruments. An example of the necessary things that will be learned from music lesson is to learn the musical notes, the tones, counting and the rules of music. Music is a very strict subject that is why one must observe the rules very well especially on beginning because playing the violin needs strict observance of the proper notes, tone, rhythm, etc.

Once the fundamentals of music are learned, one will now have to start learning how to properly move the bow and the fingers on the string to play a note and produce a sound. One will also have to learn the proper techniques and get the best strategies on how to play a violin. The key to becoming a master violinist is to practice correctly and regularly in order to master the art of playing the violin.
