There are so many different ways to make money online these days. One thing in common with most methods is that they take some time and commitment for the money to actually come to your pocket. There will always be a pile of work waiting for you and blocking your path to large incomes. But with selling, you can make money right away if you sign up on eBay and understand how it works.

eBay has more members than any social networking site simply because it is a community composed of both buyers and sellers. There are millions of listed products to choose from and contributing by listing your own gives you significant chances of making sales only if you apply these simple tricks. It is important for new eBay members to know these things if fast sales are a requirement.

Build your Reputation

With millions of sellers registered on eBay, it is a clear fact that a fraction of these sellers are out there to scam buyers. This is the whole purpose of the reputation system and that reputation will help people judge whether you are a trusted seller or not. Of course if you recently registered and are now getting started, your reputation will start fresh and a good way to build your reputation is to buy items from others and make timely transactions. As long as you are courteous and prove yourself as a trustworthy buyer, you will get reputation and positive feedback which will help you greatly in selling items that you own.

Settle Disputes Smoothly

When ever you sell items expect that there will be times where you run into customers that show dissatisfaction with your service even if you maintained a good reputation with your past buyers. Dissatisfaction usually comes in the form of a negative comment in your account which can singlehandedly turn down future buyers. If you feel that you don't deserve that comment, do not be afraid to resolve feedback disputes through options laid out by eBay.

You can add a reply to the feedback politely explaining what took place because everyone including the original poster can see it. If there is no reply, you can always follow up with other bits of information that support your statement. There is also a feature that lets you request the person to revise their feedback into something more constructive if necessary. Also check out the guidelines on how feedbacks should be made and see if the feedback you received violates any of them. You can then report feedback abuse and the comment should be removed.

Keep the Starting Bids Low to Encourage Higher Bidding

Once your reputation starts to form, you can be a more confident seller and start offering products with a starting bid of $0.01. This may seem like a way to lose profits, but if your product is well described, people will flock to it and start bidding vigorously until the amounts are higher. People won't be afraid to bid if they see that you have a good reputation.

Whenever you are selling, expect people to contact you and ask you questions. Maintain a good line of support and apply these tricks and one day you could become a PowerSeller which lets you sell even more items with ease.
