Affiliate marketing is a low-cost way for merchants to sell their products. It is essentially a commission-based referral system where an affiliate markets a merchant's product and gets a commission of the selling price. If you are thinking about becoming an affiliate marketer, you could be looking at a five figure income per month if you can join the 1% to 5% of the top affiliate marketers. Continue reading this article to find the affiliate marketing strategies you need to become one of the best.

Strategy 1- After you have joined an affiliate program and have a product to market, you need to promote that product. One of the most popular ways to promote your product is through pay-per-click engines, but you should be wary of doing this unless you know what you are doing.

Another way is to do search engine optimization where you write an article using a keyword related to your product. This article will draw people to your site which is where you sell them your product.

Strategy 2- Try to avoid the mistake of many affiliate marketers, which is choosing many products that are unrelated. Find a specific niche market and focus on promoting products that are related in that market. It makes no sense to have your company be focused on a work from home theme and then go and put articles about car stereos. Stay focused on one niche market.

Strategy 3- Do not use only one merchant, but promote products from a variety of merchants. This is important because if one merchant does not pay, you have others that you can begin to focus more on. You are going to need to watch out for exclusivity agreements though, which would stop you from being able to do this.

Strategy 4- Do not promote a product you know nothing about. By learning about the product and providing information about it, you will build your credibility which makes the customer more inclined to trust you. Building trust with your customer is the most important thing, because they will buy what you offer in the future.

Affiliate marketing is a great way to earn a good income. It is important for you to know that you are not going to jump to the top of the affiliate world overnight, but you will see success if you stay in it. With the four affiliate marketing strategies listed in this article, you could be joining the 1% to 5% of affiliate marketers that are making a five digit salary monthly.
