An article is like a bowl of soup...
I have always tended to stay away from the shorter articles, but now I’m seeing that there are some perks to both medium length (which I usually write) and the shorter ones.
The Perks Of Writing A Shorter Article:
- Writing shorter articles can help you get out of a writing slump, if you are used to writing medium or longer articles.
- Shorter articles (when written correctly) can be more hard hitting and straight to the point, which can make it easier for a reader to glean information from them.
- Shorter articles force you to mercilessly edit your content–you will learn to trim any superfluous wording, leaving just the ‘meat’.
- Shorter articles can be written more quickly–it’s a good feeling to be able to write several quality articles at one sitting.
- Let’s be honest–writing a shorter article is better than writing no article at all, isn’t it?

I am purposely keeping the resources on this page to a minimum, because I know that when you’re first starting out, having too much information can be as debilitating as not having enough!
My goal here is to offer you enough info to get started, but not so much that you feel overwhelmed.
Still, there’s a lot of info here–Don’t feel like you need to read this all at one sitting.
Skip around to the bits you are most interested in, and you can come back to this page at any time as you need more information.

Do you look at your stats for your articles?
If you don’t I’d like to teach you a way to generate more article topic ideas based on how well your previous articles have been received.
Look at your article list.
You can do this in our article directory or by logging into your membership account and going to Article Manager => Article Statistics.
Now keep in mind these are the stats for your articles as they appear on our own article directory, so this is not an overall view of your articles’ views or publishes, but it’s still a great way to determine an article’s popularity.
Which articles have gotten the most views?
If you’ve been submitting articles for a while, you have to take into consideration that the longer the article has been published, the greater likelihood that it will have higher pageviews and publications.
But even so, I bet that there are probably some articles that you’ve submitted that are outperforming others.
What types of articles have been your top performers?
How can you use this knowledge to generate new article topic ideas?

We’ve all been there–for the life of us we just can’t get up the motivation to write, and it feels like “I’ve written about everything that I can possibly write about.”
If you’ve been submitting articles for any length time you’re bound to go through a period where it’s just plain HARD.
Why do we fall into slumps?
I can think of a few reasons:
- We’ve been writing in the same way for so long that it just becomes mechanical (and boring) to us.
- We’re tired (mental health day anyone?)
- We’ve lost touch with our target market, perhaps working in the ‘back office’ so long that the bond of rapport has deteriorated.
- We’re not challenged. We’ve reached some of our initial goals and are wondering “now what?”
Whatever the reason, it’s just natural to get into a slump sometimes.
This happens with professional writers too, so consider it a merit badge that you’ve been writing long enough to actually fall into a slump!

Article marketing is a long term endeavor–for the most long lasting and dramatic results, you will do it consistently over the lifetime of your website.
Easier said than done, eh?
Very few of us take a straight path from the ground level up to the pinnacle–for most of us it’s a series of ups and downs and periods of going in a horizontal line.

Sneeze pages show off your previously published content.
Have you wondered how you can get the most bang for your buck with the articles you’ve submitted?
Have you ever wished that you could somehow make something extra out of your articles, something that you could offer to the visitors of your website?
Have you ever wished for a way to direct readers to your other articles, knowing that you had much more information that would be valuable to them?
Have you ever thought, “I have written soooo many articles, I can’t even keep track of what topics I’ve covered and which I haven’t!”
Are you new to Article Marketing and just getting in the swing of things, and longing for a way to categorically organize and build your arsenal of online content?
If any of these scenarios applies to you (and my hand is up for pretty much all of them), then a sneeze page might be exactly what you need.
What’s a sneeze page?

Article Marketing plays well with others.
People submit articles to market their website, and blogs can also be used to market a website.
Both article marketing and blogs can be marketing tools for traditional websites, but they offer special benefits when used together.
Articles and Blogs Play Well Together
My main marketing tool for my business is Article Marketing–that is the tool that has produced the most dramatic success for me.
But I also use other secondary marketing tools which I enjoy and from which I get different types of perks. For example, one of the things I like about having a blog is that readers can leave comments, and I can reply back. My blog is like a little community hub where I can connect with readers.
Another thing I like about having a blog is that it fits so nicely with my Article Marketing plan. Here are a couple ways that I play one off of the other:
