Hi Louis,

I am less strict on my word count requirements for my blog posts--I tend to write longer blog posts because there are not the publisher restrictions that there are with articles. So, I tackle a topic in a blog post and just write til I'm done.

With the articles, I use a word count limit. I experiment with different lengths, sometimes 700-800 words, and other times shorter in the 400-700 range. It just depends and I do this to 1) switch things up for myself so I don't get bored, and 2) to see which type of posts are more popular for certain topics.

I use the blog post as an outline for the article--usually the blog post is longer, as I tend to write 'How To' type content.

But, I had a question Steve. How long should the blog post be as compared to the Article. I was doing both about the same. But, whether article or blog post I prefer short and to the point. 350 to 500.

Whats your thought?

Hi Louis--yes, the idea is to keep the content on your own site unique. Use the blog posts as an outline for the article, so that your article is not a copy of your blog post.
