Business Article Marketing: Article Submissions Are Key To Business Success

This article is for business owners with websites who are wondering how business article marketing can be used to get more visitors to your website.

First, let me give some background about myself that will hopefully give you some encouragement about your own marketing efforts. Before I started the article submission service SubmitYourArticle.com, my job was as a developer. I worked for someone else, and I developed software at my employer’s request.

I found that type of work to be lacking in fulfillment–I still loved being a developer, but I just wanted to develop my own products. I had the idea of creating software that I could sell online, so I developed a piece of software that allowed people to put pop-ups on their websites.

I ran into some challenges that I’m sure you’re running into yourself right now–I needed to get the word out about my product, and I wasn’t sure how.

You know how that is–although your business, product or service may be great, perhaps even “the best”, it really doesn’t amount to much unless you can get your business in front of the right people– your potential customers.

So, that was the frustrating challenge I was facing. I did a lot of research on how to do internet marketing, and I became convinced that free reprint article submissions were the key.

I did them manually–perhaps that’s what you’ve been doing so far. I saw some initial results, but it was just so time consuming that I got fed up with it and decided to do something about it. I knew that I was not getting the maximum benefit from article marketing because I wasn’t submitting to enough publishers.

I tried using article submission software–you know, the kind you download on your computer–but that was a big headache and a disappointment as well. It didn’t really streamline the process very much at all, and I knew I needed a better solution.

So, to solve my problem, I decided to automate the submission process for myself by developing a piece of online software that would make it as easy as pie to submit my articles to a large network of publishers.

And that’s how I started–I just had a product to market, a budding business that I needed to get the word out about.

It’s interesting how life plays out, because in making that online article submission service for myself I saw how powerful article marketing could be when the submission process was made manageable.

With the article submitter I created, I was able to submit my articles more easily, to more publishers, and because my articles were being more widely distributed I didn’t need to submit as many. Suddenly, marketing my business online became effective and doable.

I don’t want to overload you with a bunch of technical information on article marketing, but I do want to be sure you understand the basics of how it works:

First, you write articles on your niche. You then submit them to online publishers who put your article on their websites.

Along with each article you’ll also submit a resource box which contains information about you and a link to your website. It is that resource box that helps your website get a higher ranking in Google and the other search engines, which in turn directs more potential customers to your website. It is also that resource box that lead readers to your website directly from the articles themselves.

    Hi Steve,

    When you`re struggling to find your feet on-line & you read various comments about article marketing there is a great conflict in views nowadays.

    One marketer, who is known to have submitted many thousands of articles, replied to one of my comments saying that he does feel that article marketing is as strong as it used to be !

    Another marketer feels that niche sites are more rewarding!

    Steve, it is so hard to know what to do, who to believe when the information is so conflicting.

    I know that I have found a small group of marketers who I follow with great interest & pleasure. Yes, you are in that group !

    Thank you very much. I go by my own experience and that of my clients, and I know that article marketing is still relevant and very effective as part of an overall online marketing plan. It’s not the only marketing tool I use, but it’s the main one.

    As far as the niche sites go, I agree that it’s best to get your content published on niche sites. That’s why I’m so pleased about our growing blog network.

    SubmitYourArticle.com still submits to article directories (and ezine editors and all sorts of online publishers), but now we have a large network of blog publishers, and we’ve developed a way for the blog publishers to be very laser beam specific in the types of content that they receive.

    So, we’ve found a way to make article marketing niche specific, rather than just putting articles on a general directory with all sorts of topics.

    My experience with manual submission of articles is like yours. Manual submission is so boring, time consuming and wastes a lot of time, which one would use to perform other important marketing tasks. You can only submit to a handful of ezines, which is not as effective as submitting to hundreds or thousands of directories through article submission services.

    Article marketing is still as strong as ever. Just as relevant today as it was ten years ago. Articles allow you to speak as an expert. Every article you submit to a directory or post to your website works for you 24/7.

    Yes, I’d be happy to give you more info on how blog publishers can get laser focused articles, but it would probably be more helpful to read this post I prepared when we launched the blog network.

    In a nutshell though–you can filter content specific for your niche by:

    Setting categories you would like to receive content in
    Setting the exact keywords you are looking for
    Setting keywords you are looking to exclude
    Set the minimum level of ‘uniqueness’ for the content you receive (effective from mid-November 2010)

    You can also…

    Receive ‘naked articles’ only – these look like real blog posts, and do not look like free reprint articles
    Decide whether you want content delivered to your blog to be published straight away, or left for you to manually approve
    Decide if you want to be notified by email when content is sent to your blog
    Pause and resume submissions to your blog at any time
