For Beginners: How To Submit Articles For Maximum Traffic To Your Website
Published By Google+

So you have bright, new shiny website that you’re very happy with.

You’ve got great content on there, excellent educational information about your niche, and you just can’t wait to share your knowledge and services with the people you’d like to help.

You’re raring to go, but the only problem is that hardly any visitors are coming to your site. You’re thinking, “Why is this? And how can I fix this?”

You’ve heard that you need to “market” your website and you might be thinking that sounds over your head. What does it mean to market a website, after all?

I know how this conversation and thought process goes, because I’ve been through it myself about a million times with clients. I can totally empathize with every new website owner who is so frustrated because the traffic to their website is like a flat line on a graph.

I want to tell you a couple things, and I’m going to keep this as non-technical as possible. The first thing I want to tell you is something you’ve probably heard elsewhere:

As far as website marketing tools go, article marketing is something that you can do yourself and that has excellent results when done correctly.

You write educational articles about your general niche and submit the articles to publishers (ideally, through an article distribution service like SubmitYOURArticle.com).

When a publisher publishes your article, you get exposure for yourself and your website, you get to show your expertise in your field and win the trust of your target customers, and you get a backlink to your website.

When you do article marketing over the long term, you are helping to bring attention to your website. You are getting the attention of humans who read your articles. You are also getting the attention of search engines, such as Google. This new attention you’re generating around your site helps more people to find out about your website, either through the articles that you’re submitting or through Google.

The second thing I want to tell you is this:

Even if you’re a complete newbie to internet marketing and website marketing, you can market your own website with excellent results.

This is a topic that we’re going to be covering over the next few posts–how a complete newbie can market a website with article marketing. I’ll walk you though each step and make it as basic as possible.

Article marketing has lots of levels, just as any other skill out there. There is an entry level and there is an “in the middle” level, and then there’s an advanced level. In order to get to the advanced, you first need to go through the entry level. You first need to be a beginner.

Next time I’m going to tell you the very first step that you need to do before starting to market your website. It’s basic; it’s simple, it’s something that every website owner should be doing anyway.

Until then, do we have an absolute beginners in the house?

What’s your story?

  • What made you decide to market your website?
  • What concerns you the most about taking on this new endeavour?
  • What excites you the most about learning this new skill?

    Hi Steve,

I realise that you`ve covered this subject many times before, but I for one,am grateful you`re doing it again – thank you!

The basics of article marketing can never be repeated enough. This is usually because everyone has a different point of view to make or question to ask.

I always enjoy your articles – but I`ll be paying EVEN more attention to this!

  2. It is discouraging when my articles get denied. Thankfully that’s infrequent.

  3. Hi Steve,

I have been manually doing article submission, more miss than hit!

I have just started doing a full blown article submission campaign and I am now just waiting on the results.

I would like to find high PR ranked sites to promote to. I did do a search, but only found PR6 and lower.

Until an automatic service is affordable, where can I get a list of high PR sites?

    @Alan Whitehead: Hi Alan,

Thanks for your questions. Yes, it’s very hard to do a manual article submission campaign–it’s very time consuming and there are only so many sites that you can submit to by hand. You will see much better results with less effort by submitting articles automatically.

You had asked about high PR sites to submit to, and I would like to direct you to this resource on this blog:
