How To Submit Articles: What Is Article Marketing?
Published By Google+

Article marketing basically means using the power of free reprint articles to effectively market your website.

It involves you writing and syndicating free reprint articles via article directories, other websites, blogs, ezine editors, and article announcement groups, allowing them to freely publish your article in return for a link back to your site from the resource box at the end of the article.

Take a quick look in our article directory to browse through thousands of these articles from thousands of different authors (who are also website owners) and get an idea of how free reprint articles are written and formatted. You’ll also be able to see that a simply infinite number of topics are covered.

Also, importantly, notice that the topic of the article almost invariably closely relates to the website linked in the resource box at the end of the article–if it doesn’t, then there’s something amiss, and the author’s doing something wrong. I don’t see that very often though.

By writing free reprint articles that are picked up by online publishers, a website owner can effectively build links, increase search engine ranking, drive traffic back to his website and establish himself as an expert in his niche. The end effect of course should be increased traffic, and from there, increased sales and profits.

The beauty of article marketing is that it’s simple and anyone can do it. Even if you don’t think of yourself as being ‘a writer’, you really don’t have to be – you don’t have to be a writer to do this and get all the benefits.

‘Article marketers’ are regular everyday business owners who drive traffic to their websites and thereby increase their profit levels, often significantly, by increasing their search engine rankings and establishing themselves as experts in their fields without breaking the bank–all of this through effectively distributing free reprint articles.

So, How Does This Work?

Quite simply, online publishers are in desperate need of quality content that they can publish on their websites.

For the ezine publisher, quality content is essential. It encourages their subscribers to keep reading rather than unsubscribe, and ezines that are read are far more profitable for the publishers, whether via advertising or other revenue streams.

For the website owner, content equals traffic. It’s that simple–the more content you have, the more traffic you attract from the search engines, particularly engines like Google which are content-crazy.

Why Do People Do Article Marketing?

That’s a logical question–Why in the world would you go to the trouble of writing an article and then submit it to online publishers where anyone can publish your article for free?

The idea might not make immediate sense to you, and I completely understand that.

What do you get out of this arrangement?

Here’s what you get–you don’t get any money directly from the article, but you do receive three very important things that are potentially far more valuable if you have a website:

1 – Article marketing builds links to your website.

2 – Article marketing builds publicity for your website, bringing widespread exposure and an increase in targeted traffic.

3 – Article marketing can help establish you as an expert in your niche and build customer confidence.

Here’s how it works:

Each time you submit an article, you will include a resource box, which contains your name and some brief biographical information about yourself  along with a link back to your website.

Every time a website owner decides to publish your article, he also includes your resource box. So, every time the article is picked up for publication, your name and a link back to your website are published as well.

In this way, you can build links and increase the exposure of your website. The people clicking through to your website will be doing so because they find your article helpful, and since your article is on the same topic of your website, the article is generating what is called “targeted traffic”. That means that the people who are going to your website are ones that are likely to have an interest in your website.

Yes, when you submit a free reprint article, you’re letting publishers post your content for free, but that’s the whole point! That is what generates widespread distribution of your article, builds links to your website, gets your website more exposure, and establishes you as an expert in your field.

It’ll help if you think of it this way–Instead of thinking of article marketing as writing articles for free, think about it as letting other people market your website for free!

That is a more accurate description of what’s happening.

I know this is a lot to take in if you’re just starting to learn about article marketing. If you have any questions on what article marketing is or how to get started, please don’t hesitate to ask–just let me a question in the comments.
