Marketing With Articles: More beginner questions…
Published By Google+

Last time we covered a few of your beginner questions about article marketing, and I hope that post was of help to some of you.

Really, we get tons of questions every day from people who are interested in marketing with articles or who are just thinking about it. People are creating websites all the time and learning that it’s essential to market their businesses online, and without fail, one of the first marketing tools that people turn to is article marketing.

I can see why. It’s pretty straightforward– you just need to write articles on your niche, and most people can do that with a little instruction. Article marketing is also pretty easy to wrap your mind around once you get some questions answered, even if it is a completely foreign topic to you.

The key to getting started submitting articles is to first get your basic questions answered. That is how most people begin–with a list of questions. Here are some questions and answers below that beginners have sent me recently:

1 – Can expect to see an increase in traffic to my website and more sales within the first week of submitting articles?

Isn’t it so common that we all want to take care of something really important, do it with minimal effort and have the results be immediate? This is a very common question, and I really can’t blame anyone for asking it! :)

Let me give you an honest answer so that you’ll know what to expect.

Can you see results within days of submitting your first articles?

It’s possible. Results certainly can be dramatic – for example, publication in a major ezine can bring a surge of traffic over a few days, but that is not the norm. It does happen from time to time, but a big temporary boost in traffic is not really what you’re going for with article marketing.

Keep in mind that article submissions are generally a long-term strategy for building up the traffic to your web site.

For example, search engines like Google can take months to adjust search engine ranking based on incoming links. An increased search engine ranking for your major keywords can of course build traffic dramatically for the long-term.

So, one week is a bit too soon to see lasting results, although you may notice a spike in traffic related to people clicking the link in your resource box for your article.

It’s best to keep your eye on the long range benefits and commit to submitting 8 articles a month over the long term for each website that you’re marketing. That’s 8 articles a month if you’re submitting through an automatic article submitter like It would be more if you’re submitting manually.

2 – How have all the Google updates affected Article marketing?

I’ve written a post that answers your question, so please check it out:

3 – I am wanting a “definitive how-to guide” about how anyone, even someone like me that doesn’t have a clue about how to write my own articles, can do it.

First of all, I hope it encourages you to know that many people who start article marketing have never written an article. They start from scratch and just learn how to do it, and you can do that too.

We have several “how to” guides for writing articles on our blog. Here are some that may be helpful to you:

And here is a list of Article Templates:

We also have a lot of other information on writing articles on this blog, so feel free to look around.

These are some pretty basic questions that you may have been wondering yourself. If you have any questions about article marketing that you are still not sure about, please don’t hesitate to ask me.
